Course Description

Right now, you are probably sitting down. There is pressure being applied between you and the chair. You can adjust your sitting position to reduce the pressure, or you can stand up. What happens when you can’t adjust or can’t stand up? You might develop pressure ulcers which could become life-threatening.

By the end of the course, you will:

  • Understand the function and characteristics of the skin and their relationship to pressure ulcers
  • Identify who is most at risk of developing pressure ulcers
  • Be able to assess the skin
  • Know how to treat pressure ulcers.

Students can access the RSS Pressure Ulcer Care online course material 24 hours per day, seven days per week. When you pass the final assessment required at the end of the course, you will receive a certificate of completion to showcase your newfound knowledge of Pressure Ulcer Care.
