Welcome to the Legionella Awareness course
Legionella bacteria are widespread in natural water systems. They may also be found in purpose-built water systems. Control and management of these water systems is imperative because Legionella bacteria are potentially fatal.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Identify where Legionella can be found
- Know how it can be contracted and how it can be spread
- Avoid water temperatures and conditions that favour the growth of Legionella
Below you will see the chapters that make up this course. You are required to complete these chapters in order. Upon completing all chapters, you will be able to return to any of them in any order to refresh your learning. At the end of the course is an assessment containing 15 questions. You must answer 12 questions correctly to pass. If you fail to answer 12 or more questions correctly, you will be given the opportunity to try again. Upon successful completion of the assessment, you will be able to access your certificate.
You do not need to complete the course in full in one sitting. If you exit a module part way through, you will be able to return to the same point when you next log in.
We all learn at different speeds, and you should allow approximately 60 minutes to complete the course. You must pass the assessment at the end of the course to receive your certificate.
When you are ready, start the first chapter.
